In 2007 the León Center continues to contribute to the research, protection, exhibition and dissemination of Dominican artistic and cultural achievements.

Life is made up of a succession of acts and we cannot allow every day to be the same. Throughout the year there are seasons that are eagerly awaited, that fill months of life. That is the cultural prodigy of the holidays. But if they are also animated by a special spirit, if they are not only celebrations, but also endowed with soul, these festivals become one of the richest heritages of our culture. This is what happens with Christmas and the festivities to receive each new year, which have a kind of sanctifying grace: all those who are involved in those holidays bring out the best in themselves on those days. Indeed, generosity, solidarity and good intentions are part of Christmas and New Year’s Eve. It is really a blessing that these holidays allow to move such good impulses and, together with a profusion of Christmas trees, infinity of ornaments and an overflowing trade, reflection is also imposed in relation to what we want to do and, consequently, be.
Before the arrival of this new year 2007, the León Center renews its resolutions tocontinue doing to contribute, through its activities, to the research, protection, exhibition and dissemination of Dominican artistic and cultural achievements and everything that contributes to the formation of a society more sensitive to transcendent values, more proud of itself and able to actively participate in the improvement of the quality of life of the nation within the Caribbean context. Maintaining and deepening these purposes is what will bring us closer to what we want to be as a Cultural Center of national and Caribbean projection.
